Just as important as college planning is for young adults, proper career planning needs to be considered early, too. PROJECT: LIFE counselors are proactive, preparing students in school to career transitions. As part of this process, clients are taught basic skills that include:

  • Resume and cover letter development;
  • Job search principles and the value of networking;
  • Interview technique; and the importance of
  • Developing a career plan.

Developing a career plan helps you determine your skills and interests, what career best suits your talents, and what skills and training you need for your chosen career. By developing a career plan, you can focus on what you want to do and how to get there.

Studies show that college students change their career plans at least once and often twice while enrolled.
